Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity

Metabolic syndrome and obesity both are linked closely where it significantly represents public health challenges around the world. The term Metabolic syndrome describes cluster of disorders that occurs jointly, increasing the risk of developing various diseases like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Obesity and metabolic syndrome usually show bidirectional relationship wherein obesity not only responsible for increasing risk to develop metabolic syndrome but also it can get more worse because of the components of the syndrome itself.
Obesity can be addressed through modification in lifestyle which includes physical exercise, diet and also behavioural changes. This can be a crucial in prevention and management of metabolic syndrome. Strategies revolving around public health dealing with prevention and early detection of obesity are key to curb the increasing epidemic of these interrelated conditions.
